This course was Math 111, Studies In Mathematics.
- Required: Davis, The Nature and Power of Mathematics
- Optional: Ore, Number Theory and Its History (this is used
in Math 110, and only has a tiny section that is relevant to 111).
There is a final art project this quarter, worth 10% of the grade and due on or
before Friday, March 8. To see the assignment, click
here.
Grading is on a straight scale (uncurved), with 90%,80%,70%,60%
guaranteeing A-,B-,C-,D respectively. I can and frequently do
give higher grades than the numbers dictate, but I will never go lower
than these guidelines. The grading is weighted as follows:
Homework | 15% |
Quizzes | 10% |
Art Project | 10% |
Midterm 1 | 15% |
Midterm 2 | 15% |
Final Exam | 35% |
