List Of Goat and Sheep Milk Cheeses

This list was contributed in 2010 by goat/sheep milk allergy sufferer Meg, who writes:

I know this is a little long, but I made this list for those who invite us to dinner and therefore it must be as comprehensive as possible. It includes cheese from Goat, Sheep and Ewe Milk (ewe is still the same family and therefore still a problem, however these cheeses are often overlooked!). People are adventurous with food these days! And I am dealing with family members who say things like: "There was a picture of a cow on the package so I didn't read it. It should be fine." So while you may not need to memorize all of the names on this list because some are specific to certain areas and some clearly say "goat" in the name, I think only 3 cheeses on a list is not complete. Also to keep in mind, the vast majority of Blue Cheeses have some Goat's or Sheep's Milk in them, even if they are labeled as Cow's Milk cheese. I had one incidence of a reaction to a Blue Cow's Milk cheese that touched my plate when someone else at the table ordered it. I was told that one possibility was that the Rennet was from a goat or a sheep.
